Abstract

The new outpatient medical assistance has been applied for more than three years. This period has enabled the analysis and appraisal of the changes. The greater awareness of the attitude of the participants (physicians) in the reform would reduce the problems in the implementation of the transition. The article presents the findings of the poll conducted in April 2004 among the general practitioners (GPs) regarding their appraisal of their professional activity in the conditions of new organizational reforms. The results are showing that the presence of medical specialty is influencing the overall number of patients of a particular GP. Two thirds of the GP's time, devoted to service of the ambulatory patients is spent on completing the documentation.
