Abstract

The emergency radiology gives very useful information, which combined with the information received from some another diagnostic methods, make possible to be minimized the risk for the treated patients in the cardiac surgery intensive care unit. In this paper are discussed the present status and problems of the contemporary uninvasive X-ray image diagnostic use in cardiac surgery – Intensive cardiac unit of University Hospital “S. Ekaterina”, Medical University - Sofia. The main conclusions are made on the base of the results, received through mobile X-ray apparatus examinations of 2730 patients. Having in mind the specific condition of the patients treated in the above mentioned unit and the needs of technical equipment of the highly specialized unit staff, the authors offer some contemporary directions for improvement the image diagnostics management in the cardiac surgery Intensive cardiac unit.
